She received an honorary doctorate degree from Johnson & Wales University in 2007 and works closely with the restaurant community in helping to alleviate the hunger situation and to promote various charity events throughout the year. She is founder of GIVE PAWS, a fundraiser for The Denver Dumb Friends League. In its 12th year, 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to the charity.

The Gabby Gourmet Show is a 1-hour call-in talk show that focuses primarily on Denver area dining. Guests include local and nationally known restaurateurs, chefs, food authors and critics. The “target audience” is composed of knowledgeable and faithful listeners who follow Pat’s advice on where to dine, and places to shop for special goods and services. Unlike other types of advertising, this format gives added value, due to the “focus” audience it reaches—it is conceptual sell and Gabby Gourmet listeners do appreciate the candor with which Pat delivers her “gab.”
