BAROLO GRILL

Marvelous dinner at the bar at Barolo. One last time till they close till July 12. So good. Will be first in line when they return from Italy. BAROLO Grill amazes any time-even when they are about to close for their trip to Italy. Still hard to decide on what to eat at this fabulous place. From the valet and hosts to the staff and more, it is perfect. And they just won the top Grand award from Wine Spectator!!! Every dish from appetizer, salads and pasta to entrees and dessert is a winner!

CORRIDA
1023 Walnut-Boulder
303-444-1333

Corrida in Boulder brings fining to a special place with fantastic food, wine, service, and ambience. From small plates to entrees and amazing steaks this is a night you will love

Corrida brings new excitement to Boulder in every way. Start with ambience were the restaurant is on the 4th floor with an outstanding patio to look over the city. The restaurant is stunning with contemporary design, fabulous lighting, a great bar in the rear, and a semi open kitchen that is busily turning out fabulous food under the direction of Chef Amos Watts. The food amazes with unique presentations. Tapas star with cheeses, hams, meats, and accompaniments to start. Gazpacho, roasted porcinis, potatoes with chorizo, spinach sautéed with chick peas and fried bread, ham croquettes, and tuna crudo show how talented the kitchen is as each flavor entices you to take that next bite. The salad with tomato, white asparagus, artichokes, pickled onions, lettuces, olives, tuna, caper berries, and anchovies makes a to die for dish. All are perfect for sharing. Entrees of whole fish, octopus, sausage, chicken, and heavenly chorizo crusted scallops with creamed corn make decisions impossible. There is a separate menu for the meats that range from 7X wagyu, Washugyu,or. C.A.B. Co, and Japanese Wagyu make for awesome eating at expensive prices for this special meat. Desserts are awesome, and the wine and cocktail list keep pace with the food. Service is outstanding. White tablecloths, huge windows, and elegant feel all happen in a very casual Boulder. Come as you are comfortable and be treated royally. Corrida is one great spot.

LITTLE OLLIE’S
3RD AND JOSEPHINE
303-333-1888

Fun at Little Ollie’s with lettuce wraps and pad Thai and the great people there

Little Ollie’s is always fun-a hangout for us on many Sundays-the staff is so good-and so much fun that we would go just for that but the food is super-we had lettuce wraps and pad Thai-but get mussels, calamari. Sushi, egg rolls, and a huge list of Chinese and Thai favorites-don’t forget tuna or hamburgers, salads with salmon. And more for those who do not want Asian food. It’s all great.

CITIZEN RAIL
1899 16TH ST
303-323-0017

Citizen Rail. On my burger list. They passed with 5 stars. And lamb chops, salad, oysters, carrots , and mushrooms were huge hits too. It was a treat!

Citizen Rail is an upscale steakhouse but does it all in a casual way. The bar area is separate, and the happy hour is a mob scene with great drinks and apps and happy people. Dinner in the dining room or patio is still casual and fun. The staff is great, very attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. Starters include oysters, mussels, sturgeon, and lots of seafood along with many other choices including cheese and meat plates. Salads are delicious too. Steaks, lamb and chicken are some of the entrees along with octopus and seafood. There are mains where there are sides included. The burger Is very special-half lb. with bacon, cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, onion and great sauces and divine fries. Sides are super here too. Just enjoy it all at the Born Hotel

FOUR FRIENDS KITCHEN
2070 S UNIVERSITY

Four Friends Kichen is always a treat. Great food and prices and friendly service make this a hit

DENMA SUSHI AND RAMEN
8283 S AKRON ST
CENTENNIAL
303-799-7716

Denma Sushi and Ramen hits the area and is a much needed place. Excellent sushi, appetizers, entrees, ramen and rice bowls. So many choices for all and reasonable prices too

This new spot is perfect for the neighborhood. It’s family owned and they are there all the time with a knowledgeable front of the house staff. The one room space makes the sushi bar the focal spot where you can watch the chefs create their excellent rolls. The long list affords so many choices and the results are so good and satisfy that craving. The food is very fresh and a huge variety. Start with sushi and then tapas such as fried avocado or oysters, calamari, pork belly sliders, gyoza, salads, and more. The poke bowl, ramen dishes, and rice bowls come in many variations and make wonderful entrees. Seafood ramen and pork ramen are great choices while the tuna and salmon poke are lovely in presentation and delicious over rice. Pick your pleasure and enjoy as much as you can devour before you have to give up as you are too full. Denma is a real treat, easy to find, affordable in price, and a spot to enjoy your favorite Japanese food. It’s a perfect neighborhood choice and worth the drive.

SUERTE
1518 S PEARL
720-642-7322

Happy 4th. And a fabulous dinner at Suerte. A very happy crowd eating divine food. What a treat. And a gabby dinner soon. Can hardly wait!!

Suerte bets better every time I visit. Service is great, the ambience terrific, and the food is wonderful. From appetizers on, they do a great job. Guacamole. Sala and chips, ribs, sweet potato empanadas, and then enchiladas, quesadilla, and rellenos—and the red and green chili and mole are awesome. What a treat to dine here. And our dinner will be totally outrageous

MOXIE
70 BROADWAY

Love Moxie on Broadway for breakfast and lunch-both are great-avocado toast with egg and prime beef sandwich were both a hit-never can decide what to order here!! So many choices for breakfast and lunch-green eggs and ham and my avocado toast my favs-and then lunch: turkey with pesto or brie, curry chicken, lambwich, super salads and sides, and decadent chocolate chip cookies too!!!

Q HOUSE
3421 E COLFAX
720-729-8887

Q House. New and amazing and the place not to miss. Small and fabulous food. Can hardly wait to go back!!!

Q House opens on E Colfax and how lucky the neighborhood is. The restaurant is not big with comfortable seating, a chefs cooking bar and a regular bar-eat any place you can nab a seat. It is so wonderful. The design is simple with huge windows, great bars, a terrific patio, and the focal bars. Start with pork belly buns, pig ear salad, crispy fried chicken wings, awesome crispy fried chicken wings or even better fried smelt. Chinese eggplant, market greens and stir-fried asparagus are all amazing as well. Then come the larger plate-one must share. Shrimp, the best fried monkfish with lotus root, chicken with chilies, Sichuan peppers, mussels in black bean sauce, terrific spareribs, and ribeye. Bowls include stir fried mee fun, duck lo mein fried rice with smoked trout, bacon, and egg (a must), and braised pork ribs. There are decadent desserts and a wine and cocktail list that complement the food beyond perfectly. Service matches all. Q House is one of the most exciting places to open in a long time.
