My guests were Rich Schneider of Racquelita’s tortillas, Ravyn Schneider who is an honors student and has won cooking awards, and KellySchexnaildre of Merf’s condiments.

We heard all about Raquelitas—and the latest corn tortilla, and little ravyn- a new favorite of ours today, Ravyn told us about the Head Start program in high schools from the National Restaurant Association-she came in first in state and 5th nationwide. Listen to all
And Kelly charmed us with her descriptions of Merfs—oh do we love them all!! The start and more.

Questions of the day: how many lbs. of pineapple in 100 gallons of hangrenade siracha—180

How many lobs of four tortilla, corn tortilla and chip flour does Raquelitas use in ONE DAY-29.420

We had several calls on Gaetano’s and the great Gabby dinner there. We had calls of Merfs, on Whiskey Biscuit on S. Broadway, Jack’s Uptown Grill, and Queen of Sheba too

Fabulous new spring menu dishes Avelina . Red pepper hummus, octopus, tacos and the best crab cucumber salad ever. My new favorite dish !! and don’t miss the burger at the bar!! It is amazing-and so are the potatoes that come with.
Avelina is one big hit and great in downtown Denver. Baseball time now and a perfect spot before or after a game-brunch and lunch too. And the bar menu is terrific!! And so is happy hour here. The staff is amazing, wines and drinks special—and that is before terrific food on all the menus. The fried chicken is back for spring and that is a total favorite. The crab cucumber salad is new and on my top list now—still have a few dishes to try but love it all.

Chefs Up Front was the amazing event where $200,000 was raised for the children. Our chefs were from Range and we were wowed with a fabulous meal at this awesome event. Top chefs from all our area cook for tables of 8-each with their own menu- and the money goes to help are for, teach how to cook, and shop, and more for children in Colorado suffering from lack of food. They raised $200.000 and it was awesome. Our table was done by Range and it was great.

2 of our fabulous dishes at Ace Eat Serve. My first time diner friends are hooked! Ace gets better with each visit! The service is outstanding-the staff knows every detail from the beers through any dish. We had the brussels sprouts, the green papaya salad, the chicken and the sizzling beef-and fortune cookies. It was perfect but I put in a request for sticky mango rice. And remember Ace has great patios—and ping pong too! They do dinner nightly.

A terrific Gabby dinner at Gaetano’s. The guests were delighted with fabulous food and wine.
Gaetano’s is a favorite Italian restaurant to all. They have great food, huge portions, super wines, and great fun at reasonable prices. Pastas are always a favorite but everything there is special. For the Gabby dinner, they always do special fabulous menus and did it again. First goat cheese and toasted zucchini toasted focaccia bread with balsamic herb oil and a pinot grigio. Next came a wonderful braised Spanish octopus with tomato 2 ways-buttermilk fried green tomatoes and sweet and tangy tomato jam and micro greens served with chardonnay. Entrees brought 2 choices-both were outstanding. First, the signature Bolognese that is special here or pan roasted mahi mahi with cavatelli pasta with pancetta, English peas, and wild mushrooms tossed with lemon Alfredo. The Bolognese was served with a Chianti classico, the mahi, pinot noir. The dessert was a Merlot poached pear, anise waffle, cinnamon ice cream and spiced merlot syrup with a Bianco dolce IGT. If you were one of our guests, you had a great time, if not, don’t miss the next treat when we announce it.

A fantastic dinner at El Five-so many wonderful flavors-and new dishes that are awesome too. They are the best! El Five remains the most popular spot-for good reason. Every detail is perfect-including ordering a beer and getting something with an added taste. The new Iberia dish—pork tenderloin-and Dungeness crab are awesome-as are all the other choices. And now-on Mother’s Day they are doing a pop up brunch and a regular brunch will follow soon-yeah!

Wonderful find in Old Town Lafayette – well worth the drive from Denver – great sharing-style menu, small and large plates, reasonably priced…fabulous patio for al fresco dining!!!

What a treat! Community in Lafayette is one great spot. The ambience is very warm and friendly, and the patios are awesome. It was a perfect dining al fresco night. They feature small plates and they were awesome and generous for sharing. We started with spicy brussels sprouts and then the crab dip. Both are a must. The eggplant napoleon was the favorite-if possible, and lamb meatballs with hummus a total treat. Pork shoulder tacos were great-and we stopped and had not even gotten to the delicious looking entrees-next time. Decadent, delicious butterscotch pudding and a rich chocolate ganache with pineapple ended this feast. They also have super wine and cocktail specials-great service too. Can hardly wait to return.
