Atelier by Radex
2011 E. 17th Avenue
Radek Cerny returns to Denver and brings his incredible food to us again. On 17th and Race, the spot is small and charming. One room, white and light, copper pots cover the walls, and the open kitchen bar and lighting is copper as well. There are 4 seats for dining here while the rest of the room has lovely tables covered in red, and comfortable chairs throughout. Light wood floors, high painted ceilings, and soft lighting add to the scene. It’s warm, friendly, and welcoming. A beautiful patio adds more seating weather permitting.
Radek is a master at French cuisine and brings a special touch to each dish where awesome presentation is expected when he cooks. Start with salmon fume, foie gras, filet mignon tartare, shaved duck carpaccio, lobster ravioli, mussels, escargots, queso blanco, and salad. Entrees of lobster ravioli, cedar planked salmon, and bouillabaisse curry rouge start the list of divine choices. Saltimbocca, herbed chicken with wild mushrooms, lamb chop cassoulet, pepper beef, and a “TV dinner” of lobster, citrus risotto, shrimp &scampi and more make decisions impossible.
When each dish is presented, it is a true work of art, picture perfect—only this picture tastes as good as it looks. Decadent desserts end the meal. Lunch here is as delightful as dinner. The wine list is again outrageous with some very good buys. Service is excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable. Radek proves that upscale French cuisine can be affordable and remain spot-on perfect. With a casual ambience, outstanding food and wine, and a warm and comfortable feel, Atelier brings French food back to all. After one visit, you will be hooked. Welcome home and so happy Atelier is in Denver.
