Avelina brings excitement to dining in LoDo with its upscale and inviting décor and food. Enter to a huge bar area with the focal bar spanning a large space where guests gather. When weather permits the large windows open and the bar can service the patio as well. The whole area is sectioned off from the main dining room with comfortable lounge seating with banquette tables. It reminds one of a New York lounge. Behind is the main dining area with lovely tables and booths with linens and lovely service plates, etc.
The menu is contemporary with dishes with accents from around the world. Ingredients are very fresh and chef combines lovely favors in all. Start with shared plates of a wonderful tuna tartare, fried Brussels sprouts salad, spring pea soup, orange salad, a Bibb salad, and asparagus salad that are perfect for two or more. Add divine charred octopus Peruvian shrimp, pork belly, beef carpaccio and either roasted cauliflower or Banh Mi flatbreads and you can easily stop here with delicious food. But there is more. The charcuterie is build your own, a nice touch. The octopus is one of the bet in town, grilled but still tender, while the tuna tartar is layered on avocado and served with delicious homemade crackers. The plates excite with dill pickle brined fried chicken, lobster agnolotti, rabbit bucatini, asparagus risotto, pork tenderloin, lamb, short rib, and ribeye to make decisions impossible. Leave room for decadent desserts. The cocktail and wine list are terrific and complement the food. Service is excellent and adds to the experience. The bar is a terrific place to settle in for the night. It is fabulous in looks and service, and you will be totally pampered.
Avelina is a big hit, a super choice for downtown dining, and the place to be in Denver for a great night out!!!
